Fellowship

For the 9th time, the Erasmus Winter Programme offers a limited number of fellowships. Graduates from schools of medicine, dentistry and health sciences, who are currently working as a clinician, epidemiologist or public health professional, will be considered for the fellowship programme. A good working command in English (both written and oral) is required.

The 2012 fellowship includes

  • The tuition fee for one week course(s)
  • Course material (no books)
  • Certificate of attendance

Not included

  • Travel expenses to, from and within The Netherlands
  • Accommodation
  • Meals

Please note: the following courses are not part of the fellowship

  • Biostatistics for Clinicians
  • Regression Analysis for Clinicans
  • Survival Analysis for Clinicians
  • Principles of Epidemiologic Data-analysis

How to apply

  • Submit the online application form; select the course(s) of your choice
  • State on the form (REMARKS) that you are applying for a fellowship
  • Send the following documents by email to s.degroot@erasmusmc.nl
    • your motivation letter
    • your CV
    • copies of diploma’s and grade lists (in English)
    • one letter of recommendation
  • Only complete applications will be evaluated

Participants who received a NIHES fellowship in the past for the Erasmus Summer Programme, Erasmus Winter Programme or NIHES programmes are not eligible.

Visa

Some participants may need visa to enter The Netherlands. Please contact the Netherlands Embassy in your country to check the procedure.

Applicants who meet each of the following requirements will be considered for a NIHES/ESP Fellowship:

You do not have a permanent residence in the Netherlands.

You are currently working as a clinician, epidemiologist or public health professional.

You aspire to a successful research career: you are interested in obtaining a Master’s degree in quantitative medicine or health sciences and you wish to undertake a PhD research project in the (near) future. You currently do not hold a PhD degree.

You have a good working command in English, both written and oral.
